Graduate Study

The Department of History offers programs of study and research leading to M.A. (offered en route to the Ph.D. only/no terminal M.A.) and Ph.D. degrees in History. Students in the Ph.D. program receive training in historical research, theory, and teaching as they make significant contributions to the scholarly community. Students graduate with the qualitative and quantitative skills necessary to conduct professional research and teaching in history.
